Chazy youth hockey meeting

CHAZY — Chazy Youth Hockey will host its monthly meeting at Scotts’ Memorial Rink at 7 p.m. February 12.

Wins earns Cadieux SUNYAC honors

CORTLAND — Mathieu Cadieux of the Plattsburgh State men’s hockey team has been selected as the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) goalie of the week for the week ending Feb. 9.

Cadieux receives his third weekly award of the season after making a combined 44 saves in a pair of conference wins over the weekend. The Cardinals’ senior goaltender recorded 20 saves on Friday night in Plattsburgh 4-1 win over Fredonia State.

On Saturday night, Cadieux stopped all 24 shots he faced, including 11 in the third period, to earn fourth shutout of the season in the Cardinals 2-0 victory against Buffalo State. With two games left in the regular season, Cadieux owns a 17-3-2 record with a league-best 1.52 goal-against average and a .940 save percentage.

Plattsburgh gets a break in the schedule this weekend before beginning the final weekend of the regular season with a SUNYAC game against Cortland on Friday, Feb. 21 at 7 p.m.

PLATTSBURGH — Plattsburgh Little League will hold registration for the 2014 season February 13 from 6 p.m until 7:30 p.m. at the Crete Center. For forms and information, visit

PYH board meeting to be held Feb. 13

PLATTSBURGH — The next Plattsburgh Youth Hockey board meeting will be held February 13 at 6:30 p.m. at PrimeLink Communications on 99 Kansas Ave. The meeting is open to the public.

Cardinals’ Play4Kay game is Saturday

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh State women’s basketball team will host its annual Play 4Kay game on Saturday, February 15, as the Cardinals take on Oswego State in Memorial Hall. The SUNYAC tilt is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.

The Cardinals will be selling pink Play 4Kay t-shirts during the men’s game which is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. In addition to the shirts, the Cardinals will also be holding a 50/50 raffle during the men’s game to help raise funds for CVPH’s Treasure Chest Foundation. Plattsburgh State encourages all fans in attendance to wear pink to support those who have and are currently battling breast cancer.
