B'town edges Seton in girls' tennis


BEEKMANTOWN — Anna Stitt captured a 6-0, 6-3 victory over Shannon Egan at No. 2 singles to lift Beekmantown over Seton Catholic, 3-2, in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference girls’ tennis Monday.

The Eagles captured one singles and one doubles match by forfeit, so Stitt’s victory claimed the win.

The Knights’ Kelli Ryan captured a 6-4, 1-6, 7-5 win over Olivia Wyand at No. 1 singles. Lauren Richter and Alyse Clark were 6-4, 6-4 winners against Julie Solberg and Chelsey Tallada at No. 1 doubles.

No. 1- Ryan (SC) def. Wyand, 6-4, 1-6, 7-5. No. 2- Stitt (Beek) def. Egan, 6-0, 6-3. No. 3- Beekmantown won by forfeit.
