Beekmantown sweeps NCCS in track

CHAMPLAIN — The Beekmantown boys won 15-of-16 events on their way to a 105-25 victory over Northeastern Clinton in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference track and field Tuesday.

Nathan Foster earned three first-place finishes to power the Eagles. He won the 100-meter dash in 11.7 seconds and the long jump with a leap of 17 feet, 10 inches and also helped claim the 400 relay.

Colin Quackenbush, Matthew LaClair, Domenic Trombley, Cameron Garceau and Dan Villa all recorded two wins.

Kallie Villemaire had four victories to lead the Beekmantown girls past the Cougars 79-52. Villemaire won the 200 in 26.3 and the high jump with a 4-8, and she helped claim the 1,600 and 400 relays.

Emily Anderson took first for the Eagles in the shot put (29-8) and discus (106-8). Kirsten Villemaire was on the 1,600 relay squad and added a win in the 800 in 2:46.1.

Mallory Honan paced Northeastern Clinton with first-place showings in the 100 (13.1), the triple jump (34-2) and the long jump (16-8).

PLATTSBURGH — Paige Spittler took first place in four events as the Seton Catholic girls picked up their first win of the season.

Spittler won the 400 in 1:04.5 and the 200, and she was on the winning 3,200 relay team. Lauren Grant added victories in the long jump (13-4½) and the triple jump (28-2½), while Melissa Whyman claimed the 800 (2:27.7) and the 3,000 (12:24.1).

Lillith Ida paced the Sentinels with wins in the 100 hurdles (18.2), the 400 hurdles (1:18.1) and the high jump (4-2). Hailey Kuhl placed first in the 100 (14.1) and helped win the 400 relay.

The Ticonderoga boys earned a victory behind a four-win performance by Jay Hebert. He finished first in the 110 hurdles with a time of 13.9 and the 200 in 23.5, and he was part of the 400 and 1,600 relays.

Coleman Granger won three events for the Sentinels: the 100 (12.1), the 400 (55.2) and the 400 relay.

Seton Catholic’s Mitchell Ryan won two distance races and helped win the distance relay. Evan Page was also on the relay, and he claimed the 800.

LAKE PLACID — Gabby Armstrong was a four-time winner to lead the Blue Bombers in the girls’ meet, while Paul Ford captured four wins to help the Patriots’ boys’ team.

Armstrong was a winner in the high jump (4-4), the 3,000 (12:59) and the 400 (1:05). She was also part of the 400 relay (1:00.7).

Nina Armstrong and Rachael Ashley were each three-time winners for Lake Placid, while Jilly Goulette and Lissy Ashley were both two-time winners.

Rachel Knapp and Haley Taylor paced AuSable Valley with two wins apiece.

Ford took wins in the 110 hurdles (17.3), the 400 hurdles (1:08.7), the triple jump (38-8) and the high jump (6-0).

Michael Thompson chipped in with three wins for the Patriots, while Josh Ducharme, Brandon Ruocco, Alexander Connor and Mark Chauvin were all two-time winners.

Nzoni Thompson led the way for Lake Placid with three wins.

SARANAC LAKE — Lexi Blockson and Sobaan Ayub each captured three events to help the Chiefs sweep the Red Storm.

Connor Christopherson broke a school record in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.2. He was also a winner in the 100 (11.1).

Ayub, meanwhile, took first in the 400 hurdles (59.3) and was part of the 400 relay and 1,600 relay.

Justin Liechty, Ty Tedford, Jeremy Bullis and Zach LePage were each two-time winners for Saranac.

Kevin Morgan paced Saranac Lake with a pair of victories.

Blockson took three victories for the Saranac girls. She grabbed wins in the 800 (2:40.6), the 400 (1:03.3) and was part of the 3,200 relay (11:30.3).

Elysha O’Connell and Janyll Barber added two wins apiece for Saranac.

Blair Moody grabbed three victories to lead the way for the Red Storm. Vanessa Salamy, Kate Stevens, Annie Frennette and Sam Martin were all two-time winners.
