PORT HENRY — Jake Griffin belted three hits, while Michael Conway and Durgan Zappala each added two in a five-run win for the Chiefs.

“We ended up with some errors that cost us in the fifth inning,” Vikings coach Casey Nephew said. “We had a fly ball drop between our outfielder and shortstop, which didn’t help. They responded to that with (Zappala) hitting a two-run double. That was big for them.”

Leading 6-4, Saranac added three more runs in the following inning.

“In the sixth, we led off with a couple of fielding errors,” Nephew said. “(Zappala) added another RBI in the sixth, so he combined for three (RBI) in a two-inning span.”

The Chiefs finished with 12 hits in the game.

Chris Clarke paced the Vikings with three hits. Dakota Marcotte recorded two hits.
