Guay shoots 3-under par in Peru's win

PERU — Jordan Guay carded a sensational three-under 33 at Adirondack Golf & Country Club Wednesday afternoon to lead Peru to a 6-0 victory over Ticonderoga in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference golf.

Guay had a bogey on the first hole, but was flawless after that as the Indians improved their record to 3-0.

Matt Nugent added a 42 and Tyler Lemza a 44 for Peru, which also got victories from Christian Mattila, Kyler Miller and Gavin Plimpton.

Jacob Young was low man for the Sentinels with a 50.

PLATTSBURGH 5, SETON CATHOLIC 1

PLATTSBURGH — T.J. LaPoint was medalist with a 46, while Nick Dodd and Andre Poirier each carded a 48 to lead the Hornets past the Knights.

Alec Odnoha and Matt Evans also won matches for Plattsburgh High.

Adam Tedford was low man for Seton Catholic with a 49 and Joe Zalis picked up the win for the Knights.

MORIAH 4, BEEKMANTOWN 2

PERU — The Eagles’ Tyler Begor was medalist on the day with a 47 at Adirondack Golf & Country Club, but the Vikings prevailed for the team win.

Dylan Scozzafava, who lost his No. 1 match to Begor, was low for Moriah with a 51 and Travis Nephew was next with a 52.

Derek Brassard, Wesley Belzer, Nephew and Zachary Beeman won their respective matches for the Vikings, with Beeman winning by one stroke in the No. 6 match for the margin of victory.

Begor and Brenden Carnright picked up the Eagles’ wins.

NCCS 5½ Saranac ½

PLATTSBURGH — Nolan Reid and Nick Lees had an exciting duel at the No. 1 slot Wednesday.

Lees and Reid each shot a 40 to tie the round, which gave the Chiefs their lone points on the afternoon.

Alex Duffy joined the duo with a 40 of his own for the Cougars, to all share medalist honors.

Chris Kokes, Chad Littlefield, Cody Young and Nicholas Palmer captured wins for Northeastern Clinton.

No. 1- Lees (Sar), Reid (NCCS), halved, 40-40. No. 2- Duffy (NCCS) def. J. Wright, 40-45. No. 3- Kokes (NCCS) def. Staley, 44-50. No. 4- Littlefield (NCCS) def. N. Daniels, 45-51. No. 5- Young (NCCS) def. Z. Daniels, 46-66. No. 6- Palmer (NCCS) won by forfeit.

WILLSBORO 6, WESTPORT 0

WILLSBORO — The Warriors defeated visiting Westport, winning all six matches Wednesday.

Willsboro’s Walker Lobdell had the overall best score with 42, while freshman Anderson Gay had the best overall score for the Eagles with 50.

Westport has a young group as Freshmen Connor Martin, Ryan Mead, Anderson Gay and first year player, Garrett Reynolds were all included in the top six.

The Warriors however, bring a more experienced group and were able to easily win their matches.

SCHROON LAKE 6, CROWN POINT 0

TICONDEROGA — Alex Shaughnessy was medalist at the Ticonderoga Country Club with a 43 to lead the Wildcats past the Panthers.

Joe DeZalia added a 47 for Schroon Lake, while Tanner Stone and Eric Paradis each carded a 48. Nathan Peace and Austin Armstrong also won their matches for the Wildcats.

The low round of the day for Crown Point was Noah Macey’s 53.
