PLATTSBURGH — The Hornets’ Chris Gray and the Bobcats’ Nolan Fergusson had the match of the day at No. 2 singles.

Gray took the first set 6-4, before Fergusson roared back in set two, 6-4. It was Gray, though, that took the win with a 6-2 final set as Plattsburgh grabbed the victory.

“It was the biggest battle of the day,” Hornets coach Cathy Whalen said. “These were two consistent players that both played well and competed for over two hours.”

Alex Racine and Brendan Whalen tallied wins in singles, while Anthony Girard and Adam Dodge, and Matt Bracey and Guillermo Saguar were winners in doubles for Plattsburgh.

For the girls, Marle Curle, Kelsey Senecal and Olivia Carlsson were two-set winners in singles for the Hornets.
