Chazy knocks off Seton in NSL

CHAZY — Chazy scored two goals in each half Saturday night and defeated Seton Catholic, 4-1, in Northern Soccer League girls’ soccer.

Hannah Laurin and Courtney Gilmore found the back of the net in the first 40 minutes, while Megan Reynolds and Laurin added second-half goals.

The Knights got on the board late on Paige Spittler’s goal.

Chazy held an 11-5 shot advantage and Logan Baker made three saves in net for the win.

LEWIS — The Lions scored a goal in each half and held the Warriors in check defensively to pick up the victory.

Emily Morris opened scoring in the first half with Caitie Decker collecting the assist, just 1:59 into the contest.

Kylee Cassavaugh made it 2-0 with 7:33 remaining in regulation. Shonna Brooks picked up the assist.

Brooks was a standout defensively for Elizabethtown-Lewis, which outshot Willsboro 16-2 in the game.

The Warriors goalkeeper Stephanie Blanchard had a strong game in net despite the loss, turning away 14 shots. Emma Disogra made two saves in goal for the Lions to capture the shutout victory.

PLATTSBURGH — Cody Quantock scored two goals to help give the Knights (5-9) their victory in Northern Soccer League play.

David LaFountain scored from Adam Tedford at 11:37 of the first half and Quantock made it 2-0 from Noah Osborne at 38:00.

Quantock added Seton Catholic’s third goal, off a LaFountain assist, with a minute gone in the second half.

Keagan Briggs recorded the shutout in the Knights’ nets with seven saves. Osborne and Keegan Frenya were standouts for Seton Catholic.

Brandon Porter played a solid game for the Warriors.
