Peru Baseball Club hosting tourney Aug. 10-11
PERU — The Peru Baseball Club is holding a baseball tournament for U10 and U12 teams on Aug. 10 and Aug. 11 at Lapham’s Mills fields in Peru. This tournament includes skills competitions, a dunking booth, t-shirt sales and a concession stand. Many great prizes will also be available for raffle. Learn to Swim Program starts Sept. 7
PLATTSBURGH — The Department of Sport and Wellness at Plattsburgh State is offering a nine-week Learn to Swim Program on Saturday mornings from Sept. 7 to Nov. 16 (no classes Oct. 12). Cost is $45 per student. Children must be age five or older, comfortable in water and 47 inches tall.

The chapter picnic will be held Aug. 30 at Cumberland Bay State Park, rain or shine. The picnic will take place in the rec room (the large building above the main entrance to the park) from 5 to 8 p.m. Attendees should bring their own place setting and beverage and a dish or dessert to share. Beauharnois and Duprey lead weekly Bicycle Time Trials – July 31st
POINT AU ROCHE — Bruce Beauharnois turned in the fastest time at the July 31 bicycle time trials, posting 22 minutes, 29 seconds in the 10-mile event. He was followed by Corey Hamelin, in 23:58 and Jason Amoriell in 24:16. Mary Duprey was the first female overall in 25:00, followed by Lynne Murray (26:04) and Sabine Amoriell (27:12).
