Ten Section VII student-athletes were recently honored by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) with all-state recognition for baseball and softball.
Austin Bradish (Beekmantown), Ryan Meyer (Lake Placid) and Alex Macey (Crown Point) were awarded with second-team honors, while Mile Austin (Ticonderoga) and Section X’s Courtney Boyea (Chateaugay) made the third-team.
Kyle Bisonette (Chazy), Kourtnie Campbell (Saranac) and Shelby Hogan (Minerva/Newcomb) represented the Class D baseball, Class B softball and Class D softball fourth-team, respectively.
Rob Knowles (Plattsburgh High), a co-Most Valuable Player in the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference baseball league and softball Player of the Year Katie Palandrani (Ticonderoga) were awarded fifth-team honors.
Junior Dillion Savage (AuSable Valley) was a member of the sixth-team in Class C baseball.
Austin Bradish, Beekmantown- In 50 at bats, Bradish slugged 21 hits, good for a .420 batting average this spring. A fifth-year player, the Section VII co-Most Valuable Player was 4-0 on the mound, with 25 strikeouts in 29.2 innings of work. Bradish totaled a 0.24 ERA.
Rob Knowles, Plattsburgh- A three-year starter, Knowles was productive at the plate and on the mound. Playing shortstop for the Hornets, he led the team in most offensive categories, registering a .545 batting average, with 30 hits and six extra-base hits in 55 at bats.
Miles Austin, Ticonderoga- Austin, a three-year starter, led the Sentinels in batting average (.400), doubles (five) and on-base percentage (.519). In 40 at bats, he belted 16 hits.
Dillon Savage, AuSable Valley- Striking out twice all year, Savage accumulated eight multi-hit games this spring. In his junior season, he hit .558, with six doubles, two triples and three home runs.
Ryan Meyer, Lake Placid- Meyer led the Blue Bombers in both hitting and pitting. A co-captain, he was 4-4, with 67 strikeouts in 46 innings pitched. He collected a 2.59 ERA.
