FREDONIA — Fredonia scored less than a minute into its Saturday-night matchup with Plattsburgh State.

Unfortunately for the Blue Devils, the Cardinals responded with 10 goals.

Plattsburgh improved to 6-1 in a 10-2 rout at Fredonia in SUNYAC action, marking the team's 11th-consecutive conference road win dating back to the 2008-09 season.

The blowout win came after a 7-0 shutout victory over Buffalo State Friday night.

"I'm real happy with the whole weekend," Plattsburgh coach Bob Emery said. "We went 17-2 for scoring, but I'm more happy with the two than the 17."

Ryan Williams got the nod in net for PSU, making 27 saves. Plattsburgh outshot Fredonia, 42-29.

Eric Satim, Andrew Willock and Vick Schleuter each had two goals for Plattsburgh. Both of Satim's scores were within the first five minutes of play, the second during a 4-on-4 stint.

Brett Meuller tallied Fredonia's first score, and Jeff Aonsa knotted the game at two after Satim's go-ahead goal.

Emery said Plattsburgh started slow out the gate, but the team controlled the play after Fredonia (6-4, 4-3) scored its last of the game.

"For the first 10 minutes, we were turning the puck over in our own end," Emery said. "(After that) puck possession was key for us, and we did a great job on our breakout."

Peter Kaliscik, Patrick Jobb, Ian DeLong and Dylan Clarke added goals for PSU.

Andrew Willock assisted on three scores while Satim, Paul Puglisi, Clarke, Chris Wieland, Tom Breslin and Mike Grace tallied two helpers apiece.

Jobb, Kyle Taylor and Matty MacLeod each had one assist.

Kody Van Rentergem started in goal for the Blue Devils but was pulled after allowing three first-period goals.

Pat Street replaced Van Rentergem in the second and made 24 saves.

The Cardinals are slated to face Middlebury Friday in the first round of the Primelink Shootout in Northville, VT.

"Everything is a work-in-progress," Emery said. "We're going to enjoy the win then get back to work Monday. It doesn't get better than the teams in the Primelink."
