"Once again, Hince made the key saves when he had to," Emery said. "And, we were able to keep a lot of their shots to the outside.

"I felt we moved the puck well on the powerplay, even though Buffalo State made it difficult for us to get the puck down low in front of the net."

The Cardinals are off before playing their first road game of the season on Saturday at Morrisville.

Plattsburgh State was without the services of defenseman Ward Smith, who had "his bell rung" in Friday's 5-2 win over Fredonia. It is still not known how long Smith will be out of the line-up.

In other SUNYAC action Saturday, Potsdam edged out a 2-1 win over Fredonia and Brockport was a 5-2 winner over Morrisville. In non-conference play, Oswego skated to a 6-4 victory over Elmira and Geneseo won a 4-1 decision over Lebanon Valley.
