SOUTH PLATTSBURGH -- Rob Senecal, an airport maintenance worker from Plattsburgh, drove a '95 Ford Taurus to a $10,000 payday by winning the Adirondack Water Systems Enduro 200 Saturday at Airborne Speedway.
Senecal started 46th in the 92-car field.
"On one red flag, a friend told me I was in third," the winner said. "At the last red flag, with about 20-30 laps to go, I was in the lead and the second-place car (Pat Leary of Peru) was just a little ways up ahead of me, so I knew I had a good lead.
"I want to thank my crew Bob Kennedy, Bob Criss, Evan Boyd, my scorer Bill Stansbury and my sponsors, Lyman's Auto and Criss Construction."
Senecal and his wife Kim were at Airborne often this year for the karting season. The Senecals' eight year-old triplets, Robbie, Ryan and Richie, raced in the purple plate division.
Pat Leary of Peru was the Enduro runner-up.
