The Cardinals added their final goal at the 19:53 mark when Rolls tallied his second power-play goal of the contest after driving to the net and taking a nice pass from Riley Hill.

Plattsburgh State, defeating Potsdam for the second time in three games this season, finished with a 34-26 advantage in shots on goal, including a combined 28-17 edge in the first two periods.

Special teams were a major factor. The Cardinals went four-for-seven on the powerplay, while the Bears (10-13-4 overall) couldn't capitalize on seven chances with a man advantage.

"We're happy, but not satisfied," Emery said. "It's back to the drawing board on Monday."

The shutout was Plattsburgh State's first post-season blanking since a 6-0 victory over Potsdam State in the SUNYAC Tournament quarterfinals on Feb. 18, 2005.
