The Cadets took a 2-1 lead in the second period on Rico Piatelli's unassisted short-handed goal at 4:18.

At 17:52, however, Satim pulled the Cardinals even with Ryan Corry and Andrew Willock assisting.

Hince stopped 31 of 33 shots between the pipes, while Chance Gieni made 18 saves for the Cadets.

After getting outgunned by a wide margin in the first period, Plattsburgh State held a combined 18-17 edge in shots over the second and third stanzas.

"We had just as many scoring chances as they did in the final two periods," Emery said. "A lot of the first period was Norwich doing a good job forcing us into some mistakes.

"But, we were able to get great leadership tonight, especially in the second and third periods. Our penalty kill was also good."

The Cardinals, who have won three straight to open the second half, are now off before closing out the non-conference portion of their schedule next Tuesday at home against Skidmore.

"It's great to have the rest of the week off and to give the players a few days off," said Emery.
