Treats

Plattsburgh City Fire Department would like to thank the people of Plattsburgh for all their support, letters, cards and food over the holidays. It’s nice to treated with respect by the people we love and protect.

Storm

A major snowstorm, horrible visibility, and people are driving without headlights on. What are you saving them for?

Driveway

Thank you so much to the person(s) who did our driveway twice during the storm. With a working husband and bad joints, it meant more to me than you know. From, New on the Block in Peru.

Jars

To whomever dropped Christmas jars off to a family on Augur Lake Road, thank you. I cried when I saw your generosity. Our family will be paying it forward next year. Thank you for renewing faith and hope in humanity.

Delivery

What happened to “rain, sleet, snow, hail.” No mail delivery or pickup on Dec. 27 for us. Our paper lady drives on horrible roads, in the dark, on the wrong side of the road and always delivers.

Security

Stores need a better security system for out-of-control customers who swear and yell at others in line. The cashier needs to handle these situations aggressively. You should make these people leave the store.

Speed

I drive the speed limit, but it seems like there is always somebody right on my tail just waiting to pass. Maybe they should use their flashers, too.

Amendment

The second amendment has nothing to do with hunting, as the lawmakers would have us believe; it was to preserve the military power of the people.

Highway

Thanks, Altona Highway Department, for doing a great job on taking care of our roads for the holidays and giving up your time at home with your families.

Paying

Whoever pays for the wedding is not given the right to hurt loved ones just because of the money. Money may have power, but have some compassion for loved ones.

Gum

It’s nice that the hospital wants the nurses and staff to look professional by enforcing a dress code. But, since when did gun chewing and snapping become acceptable at work?

Homework

The amount of homework my third-grader has to complete has become outrageous. Not everyone wants to grow up to do a job devoid of any real labor.
