Prices

Why have prices gone up so much at a local thrift store? Hard to clothe your family from there now. Good thing yard-sale season is here.

Aliens

The terrorist attack in Boston should make all of us, especially the politicians, rethink allowing illegal aliens in this country become citizens. It is dangerous for us all to have people bring their political agendas from other countries here.

Seating

Councilor, thank you for hearty laugh this morning. You really don’t get it, do you? The short summer season entices people to be outside. Dining is an after 5 p.m. event, which means ample parking downtown. Budget

City School Board, perhaps you haven’t heard us, despite all the efforts to communicate. How about no tax increase, no reinstatement of cuts. We cut for a reason. If you add it all back, we will go right back to pre-cut status.

Limit

This is not a “here’s the most you can tax, so now figure out how to spend it all” deal, City School District. How can we ever trust that you will tax for what is really needed, not what you wish, with that attitude?

Hotel

We need a medium-priced hotel on New York Road where the Base Hospital used to be. It would be handy to the busy airport, the museums, Lake Forest and the local resident visitors.

Dining

The City Council having to discuss dining outdoors in the summer? Don’t you have more important issues facing the city? If anyone is questioning why Plattsburgh is not growing, here is a perfect example of a backward-looking, disconnected city government.

Employee

I really like the City School District for my children. It is the front-line teachers and staff who make the difference.
