Speakout: Sept. 3, 2012

Position

In the spring, Beekmantown Board of Education minutes show that the position of athletic director/physical-education director was abolished. Thereafter, board minutes show the position of physical-education director was reinstated at half-time. With fall sports starting next week, does Beekmantown have an athletic director?

Merging

For all the idiots driving on the Northway who merge at the last possible second to get through the construction, one day it’s not going to work. Look out for me, oops!

Texting

Dear multi-taskers, i.e. driving and texting: Would you mind spending your talents today helping me sort out doctor appointments, meds, insurance, home-health care instead of texting and driving? At least we’d both be assured someone didn’t get hurt or killed because of your selfish, self-proclaimed talents. Thanks.

Dissolution

Can the Village of Keeseville be dissolved? Can the towns of Chesterfield and AuSable efficiently and effectively take over the services provided by the village? Yes. Can taxes go down? Yes.

Behavior

I witnessed very unprofessional and disturbing behavior at a well-known campsite. Shame on you, owner, for screaming about child pool play and responding with erratic behavior, kicking chairs and using obscene language to the extent of making them cry. You lost my business.
