---- — Playing

I often ask myself this question, “How many kids in the North Country go professional in sports?” I often answer, “Not many.” How about playing these kids a bit more equally, especially at the younger level. It is nice to see all kids having fun not just the “good” ones.

Pipes

Enough with the loud pipes on motorcycles. They are rude and just noise pollution. Cars have to have exhaust in working order, and bikes should not be allowed to be any louder than a car. Loud pipes don’t save lives; driving sensibly and paying attention is what works.

Noise

Seems the bikes with the loud pipes have to say look at me, when the real bikes don’t have to have excess noise to know it’s a real bike; it speaks for itself. The laws need to change and stop the excessive muffled sound from bikes, it’s disrespectful.

Discipline

I’ll mind my own beeswax when parents start disciplining their children. Discipline seems like tremendous work for a lot of people today. And I do not have a problem speaking up when it comes to misbehaved kids bothering other people in social settings.

Trip

How come no one anywhere has said anything about the trip to the Air Show in Europe that our Chamber of Commerce and airport folks went to? What exactly was accomplished? Inquiring citizens want to know.

Pornography

Various studies examining whether pornography perpetuates deviant behavior and sexual assaults are inconclusive. That being said, purveyors of pornograpy exploit women and children for the sexual gratification of their clients; therefore, pornography is far from a victimless vice. Please think about this when arguing that you’re not hurting anyone.

Fault

Without knowing how or why parents and children separated in the first place, how can you say whose fault it was? Was the child an alcoholic? Was the parent an alcoholic? Did one or the other do drugs? Has the person changed? Have they heard “I’ve changed,” too many times?

Relations

I tried to make up with a relative several times. Several times, the person has said he quit alcohol and drugs. Several times, that’s been a lie. I’ve almost been stranded or had to leave. No more. It’s not worth it. I could lose my job.

Complaints

Seriously, complaining about the town coaches canceling practice because of rain and thinking it sets a bad example for kids. I would be more concerned with other things some of these coaches are doing, such as playing favorites, yelling and swearing, to name a few. Also they are volunteers.
