Trials

Finally Catholic bishops are going on trial for shielding pedophile priests. It’s about time.

Positions

School districts have combined or cut some administrative positions to half time. Half time means part time; they will no longer be available 40-plus hours every week. This is a disservice to the students and community. Contact your board and superintendent with concerns.

Attire

What ever happened to wearing proper office attire? Flip-flops and grungy-looking dress pants are not appropriate for a professional office environment. You’re the first person the public sees, and your image makes the rest of our office look unprofessional. Remember: It’s casual Fridays; not casual Monday-Friday.

Barking

I wish the people who let their beagles bark day and night would be a little considerate of the neighbors. It is not the dog’s fault that the owners have no manners.

Sign

While driving down between North Catherine and Beekman on Court Street in Plattsburgh this morning, I tried to take a left on a side street to find out I was going the wrong way. Would have known if the sign was there. Please leave the traffic signs in place.

Derby

Thank you to the North Country Lumber Jill roller-derby team for providing such great entertainment for the community and for caring so much about (and being so involved in) the community. You’re a great addition to Plattsburgh.

Smoke

To the person who sat next to us at the Battle of Plattsburgh parade, your cigarette smoke was blowing into my child and the baby on your other side. Some people just don’t get it. Common courtesy and respect. You did put it out but had to be asked.

Speed

Are there special speeds for different motor vehicles? For example I see motorcycles going 70 or 80 mph. Everyone else obeys the 55-mph limit.
