Speakout: Feb. 23, 2013

Press Republican, thank you for all the pictures of babies you had in your newspaper on Jan. 31. Weren’t they the most beautiful pictures you’ve printed?

If dogs and cats were spayed and neutered, there would fewer animals filling up shelters across the country. And more pets being adopted, bringing joy into somebody’s life.

Pit bull

I would like to say thank you to everyone in Petsmart on the 30th for not judging my pit bull and turning down the next aisle. This goes for the older customers and the guy outside with his small child that petted him.

You may not like the decisions your adult son or daughter make, but lecturing them is only going to push them in the other direction. People learn best from their own mistakes, not mommy and daddy.

The company I work for switched my shifts. I adjusted fairly quickly, but it’s so different. I still miss my old shift, the hugs, the kissin’s, my work wife’s laugh and smile.

All I see in Speakout is people complaining, more often than not. Get a grip. Life is too short. Do you need a hug?
