Intersection

I still can’t comprehend why the City Police Department doesn’t enforce the traffic laws at the corner of George Angell Drive and Rugar Street. When PHS finishes for the day, the area surrounding it becomes lawless. Speeding, disregard for traffic signs are the norm. It’s a tragedy in the making.

Welfare

Welfare is there to help people, and because you work doesn’t mean others can. You should just be glad you have a job. Or a husband that has a good job. Cutting people down is immature. You may need assistance some day; there are disabled people who need it.

Drive

I wanted to send a huge thank you to everyone who donated to the Elmore SPCA at their street drive on Sept. 15. It is truly appreciated.

Dance

Congratulations to Langlois-Racine Dance School on continuing 64 years of teaching dance to North Country residents. Barbara Racine is an outstanding dance professional. Our girls have been taking dance for three years and will continue for many years to come.

Rockeater

Rockeater Race at the beach this weekend and nothing in the paper about it the day of the race and only one picture of it the following day. This was a fun event for all who were there. It’s a shame events like this don’t have more support.

Referee

Good for you and good for the kids. I witnessed a high school referee stop a JV soccer game and ask a parent to watch the game and keep his sarcastic comments to himself. We need more of that.

Flags

I wrote before about the dismal lack of American flags flying from houses in Plattsburgh. Sadly, nothing has changed, leading one to believe we are patriotic only on holidays.
