Defense

Hey sportswriters, coaches and spectator, don’t forget the defensive players. The best offense in the game will still fail without a strong defense. The offensive players who get the headlines and the cheers might want to think about thanking a defensive player today.

Pets

I’m tired of seeing pets be abused in Plattsburgh or anywhere. Poor little things can’t speak. People should be screened better to get a pet. If you can’t be good to them, don’t get them or you will be turned in.

Benefits

Something is wrong in this country when my husband and I work two jobs and I see able-bodied people who could work buying steaks and lobsters (saw it myself) on benefits while I am in line waiting to pay for hamburger.

Kindness

There is a crisp in the air, beautiful foliage, and the holidays are fast approaching. Let’s all be kind, helpful and appreciative of one another. Life is short, and at the end of each day, let’s all be proud of what we did that day before we go to bed.

Development

Where is the development of Route 9 north? Grant money was issued, yet no development.

Moose

Bruce the Moose, someone said to move the moose to the woods to let him die a natural death. Why move him? Let him die right along Wilmington Notch so everybody could watch. Then there would be a protest. DEC did the right thing.

Creature

A magnificent wild creature was slaughtered to prevent traffic congestion. Market hunters exterminated the moose in the Adirondacks in the 18th century. In the 21st century, government hit men are starting all over again.

Birthday

We were celebrating my mother’s 94th birthday at the Hungry Bear in Plattsburgh,  and a very nice woman paid our waitress for my mother’s dinner because she reminded her of her mother. Thank you very much for being so thoughtful.
