Leave
I recently overheard someone state they didn't know why they lived in this country. Unbelievable. People are giving their lives for your ungrateful overweight butt to live here. Also, your spouse likes his disability check, right? If the USA is such a bad place, leave. Trust me, the grass is not greener in any other country.

Affair
In response to the letter about the extramarital affair. I am also a victim of an affair. It is devastating to your life and health. The emotions are overwhelming of what you have to deal with. My husband is now in counseling to deal with his issues, as am I to deal with the affair. What about you, who cheated with our spouses? Do you seek counseling? What kind of insecurities do you have? Low self-esteem? Don't you think you should also seek some kind of mental health before destroying more lives?

H1N1
I am tired of everyone spouting about H1N1 and why they can't get the shot. Just be thankful you have an immune system that can fight it off if you do contract this or any other virus. It's not a disease; there is no cure; and even with the vaccine, you can still get it! Stop being so greedy, and think of all those children with life-threatening illnesses that still don't have the vaccine and be thankful it's not you or your child. They can't fight it off. Use common sense and prevention guidelines.

Campaigns
Those on the campaign trail need to show more respect for the voters. I do not appreciate the door left ajar, fliers jammed in the siding of my home or carts dragged across the lawn. Additionally, I don't want to be interrupted by a ringing telephone or door bell at any time.

Dinner
We had the pleasure of attending Sacred Heart's harvest dinner in Chazy recently. What a delightful dinner we had, as well as our visit to the "Sinner's De." What a neat idea! The young people of the parish worked the dining room and the den and did a marvelous job. Congratulations, Sacred Heart on having such nice students in your parish and for providing such a delicious dinner. We will certainly return and bring lots of our friends with us.

Taxi
Does anyone else wonder why there is always at least one taxi lurking near the woods in the back corner of the Ames/P&C plaza? I have been there several times recently to the eye doctor and there are always at least one if not two cabs near the woods. I think the police should check this out. I cannot imagine there would be many customers waiting in the woods near an abandoned plaza.

CO
I am not a CO and anyone who bashes COs is a moron, the rebuttal letters demonstrate the COs are the intelligent ones. Until you walk a mile in their shoes and have a clue what it's like, keep your ignorant mouth shut. The Crown Point bridge disaster means nothing to the federal government and barely anything to state government, it's evident in the fact that there has never been any contingency plan in place and now there is a scramble to figure out what to do. It's going to be a very long time before anything gets done.

Pushy
I find the present administration in the White House is becoming increasingly "pushy," to say the least, waging wars with private people and organizations that disagree with any of their policies. First they declared war on Rush Limbaugh, a radio talk show host, then they stopped that and immediately declared war on the entire Fox News Network, and now they have turned their horns on their heads and are in a full hate fight with (get this) — the entire U.S. Chamber of Commerce. When will this madness stop?

Alcoholism
Although the U.S. is going through tough times in the health-care debate, if you come down with an illness, you'll get treatment. If it recurs, treatment is there. If you have alcoholism in Clinton County, you may get treatment. Along with treatment, most likely you'll receive a sanction, which is jail. No arrest, just a sanction, a polite way of saying jail. If you come down with a disease in Clinton County, pray it is not alcoholism.

Police
City Police — why are they allowed to not signal when turning? Anyone else would receive a ticket for that. They are no better than any one of us. Also, what gives them the right to tailgate?
