High expectations

TO THE EDITOR: Thank you to all the teachers at Seton Academy for maintaining high expectations.

My third- and sixth-graders were disappointed to be assigned homework on the first day of ELA testing. They love getting a break on homework and were hoping that the tests would provide a day off, but the teachers know that they must keep pushing and that the kids can handle homework this week, just like any other week.

That is one reason we chose Seton, because the standards are high and because the teachers are dedicated to getting through the curriculum, regardless of changes to the Common Core.

Thank you for loving our kids, supporting them in and out of the classroom and, equally important, pushing them.
