Pleased customers

TO THE EDITOR: My wife and I purchased a new Ford Explorer from Plattsburgh Ford in June 2011.

We visited five Ford dealerships near Malone (Malone, Massena, Potsdam, Dannemora and Plattsburgh), and Plattsburgh gave us the most for our trade, so we dealt with them.

A couple of months ago, we noticed small rust spots appearing all over the car, which we believe was rail dust (Google it).

Pictures were taken and sent to Ford Motor Co., who responded and said that they weren’t going to do anything about it. Ford Motor said that it fell under 12-month/12,000 miles and our vehicle was at 24 months/24,000 miles. I called Ford Motor Co. and told them exactly what I thought about the issue in no uncertain terms.

I then notified Plattsburgh Ford about the situation, and they informed my wife and I that they were going to take care of us and get the rust spots removed.

I picked up the our vehicle, and it looks like new. I want to especially thank Darlene in the Service Department and let everyone know that this is the kind of service you get when you buy a vehicle from Plattsburgh Ford.

Plattsburgh Ford stepped up to the plate and took care us.

TO THE EDITOR: The Lake Placid Police Department would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank all of the businesses and individuals that made generous donations of money, prizes, food and time to our 26th-annual Halloween Dance and our Trick or Treat Party.

These two events were a huge success because of your generosity. Both events were very well attended, which provided a safe environment for all. We are happy to report there were no youth-related complaints taken by this department on Halloween night.
