---- — Supporters recognized
TO THE EDITOR: The staff and volunteers of Make-A-Wish Northeast New York would like to thank everyone who helped grant Justin Preve’s wish for a backyard basketball court.
If it wasn’t for the generosity and hard work of these supporters, Justin’s wish would not have been possible.
Thanks to all in the community who helped share the power of a wish: Scott and Helen Barney, B&C Driveway Sealing; James Otis, Graymont Materials (NY) Inc.; Scott LaClair and his crew; Tim Marshall; Great Northern Builders, Shawn Patterson and his crew; Oscar Parmeter; Tommie Johnson, Ground Control; Bub and Amber Earl, Jade Rental; New Energy Building Products; Vaincourt Fuels; members of the Johnson Family; Larry Lamica, Crest Haven; Sample Lumber; Dow Electric; Dick & Sheila Traynor; Cindy Gadway; BMJ Midway Market; Bonesteel’s Garden Center; Lloyd White; Titus Mountain Sand & Gravel; Charlette Broeker; the Malone Telegram; and all who helped make this wish come true.
This wish was truly an amazing community effort, and thank you all for making it possible.

TO THE EDITOR: On behalf of American Legion Montgomery Post 912 in Rouses Point, we would like to thank the many area businesses and individuals who so generously donated cash and prizes for our recent turkey raffle.
Because many other worthy organizations solicit donations from these same businesses on a regular basis, we are especially grateful that they chose to support the American Legion.
This support came from Champlain, Chazy, Mooers, Plattsburgh, Rouses Point and West Chazy and will allow Post 912 to continue to provide financial assistance in response to requests from local organizations and youth groups.
Flyers were handed out the night of the raffle listing those who had donated prizes or cash to purchase prizes. We believe those in attendance appreciate your kindness and generosity as much as we do and anticipate they will support you and your businesses in return. A win-win for everyone.
Thank you all for a successful event.

TO THE EDITOR: We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who came to our first chicken-n-biscuit dinner at the Holy Name Center, AuSable Forks, on Election Day.
Special thanks to our surprise visitor, the New York state health inspector (all was well).
We are appreciative of all who were able to come and enjoyed the food and fellowship. The response was greater than we anticipated, and we apologize for the inconvenience to those we were not able to serve.
We will double our quantities for next year and hope you will give us the opportunity to serve you our wonderful dinner on Nov. 4, 2014.
May the coming holy seasons bring all of you God’s blessings.
