Hall Golf Tournament
TO THE EDITOR: The 10th-annual Jeff Hall and Michelle Hall Memorial Golf Tournament was held on July 20 at the North Country Golf Club, followed by lunch at Bobby’s Lounge.
Once again, Beverly and Bob Hall showed their warmth, compassion, dedication and hard work to attract generous sponsors and a field of talented and giving golfers.
Record raised donations support activities for survivors of traumatic brain injury, to help them rebuild meaning and joy in their lives through engagement in recreational, educational and social activities.
Thank you to Beverly and Bob Hall for their tireless support, to the golfers who made the day a successful event and to the helpers for donating their invaluable time.

Education info praised
TO THE EDITOR: The two articles in the Aug. 5 Press-Republican on opposition to standardized testing are very informative.
I was a certified teacher in three states and worked on a master’s in education at SUNY Plattsburgh, and I have had trouble getting explanations from anyone associated with the educational system. Your two articles were very, very helpful.
State and national policies are very troublesome, and now I can see why (between the lines).
I fully agree with what was said and with the sentiment expressed on the T-shirt.
I lived with federal policy out of Boston regarding Job Corps and state policies implemented locally and would like to relate my experiences, with Kathryn Brown, and get involved as best I can.
I am a retired U.S. Air Force captain and was a successful reading teacher with Job Corps, even though my degrees are in math, science and other technical areas.
