Account of touching

TO THE EDITOR: Councilperson Becky Kasper’s account about pro-lifers in Felicia Krieg’s article of April 8 was far from the truth.

In the first place, we never use obscene language nor do we ever throw pamphlets at people. There was only one time when a pro-lifer touched a man going into Planned Parenthood, and we feel as eyewitnesses we should give our account of the incident.

On Feb. 12, 2014, between 10 and 11 a.m., three of us were praying in front of Planned Parenthood. One in our group stopped praying to talk with a man and a woman.

The woman said she was going to have an abortion but she didn’t want to have one. She said, “He (the man with her) is making me have one.”

This angered the man, who then pushed the lady with him and said, “Go on in there” (Planned Parenthood).

The pro-lifer, wishing to help the woman, gently touched the man on the shoulder and said, “You don’t want to kill your own baby. He has your DNA.” The man replied that he didn’t want to but that the lady had children and he, also, had children.

Then, a Planned Parenthood representative came out to the sidewalk and told our friend that she must not touch their clients.

Someone inside Planned Parenthood called the police. Soon, a college security guard came, and the Planned Parenthood representative and the man stood in the doorway of Planned Parenthood and pointed out which one of us had touched the man. The guard questioned the pro-lifer and she told the whole story to him.

The security guard took notes and then a city policeman came. The two law enforcers talked with one another and then departed.
