WAYNE R. BAILEY
TO THE EDITOR: Thanks to everyone at Peru Primary School who made the morning of June 18 a memorable occasion for me.
I never expected the wonderful tribute that I received. Rarely am I lost for words, but that morning I was.
I have been a volunteer in the reading program for over a year, and it has been one of the most heart-warming experiences of my life. The children that I work with are so eager to learn, and it is wonderful to see the progress that they make during the school year. I get paid with hugs.
If you are retired and want to make a difference by helping children, the primary schools in our area would like to hear from you. Remember, our children are our greatest resource, and they will be among the future leaders of the world.
TO THE EDITOR: I am looking for any information on my birth grandparents.
My father, Robert James (Bouchard) Green was born in Potsdam on Dec. 23, 1932, at 9:40 a.m. Robert was adopted by Meride and Ella Bouchard of Wilmington in the 1930s.
Robert Bouchard attended Keeseville Methodist Church in 1944.
Meride Bouchard was married to Jennie Bouchard prior to marrying Ella Pelkey of Jay between 1925 and 1930. Meride and Ella divorced. Ella then married Charlie Green between 1930 and 1940. Meride then lived in Lewis and passed away in May 1958.
If anyone has any photos, news clippings and/or other information on Meride, Ella and/or Robert Bouchard, or information on Robert’s birth parents, please contact me, at 1419 Hardscrabble Road, Cadyville, NY 12918.
TO THE EDITOR: This letter is to express our thanks to those who participated in the Day of Caring at the Champlain Children’s Learning Center.
