Solutions for district

TO THE EDITOR: The June 24 primary gives Republican voters the opportunity to support a candidate who consistently projects a positive message about her own qualifications for the office of congressperson and, equally important, talks about her solutions to helping deal with the many difficult issues facing residents in the 21st Congressional District.

That candidate is Elise Stefanik.

She advocates for a simpler, flatter tax rate, which would result in lower taxes and help business growth and job creation.

Elise knows firsthand the destructive effects of Obamacare because of the resultant loss of health insurance for employees of their family-owned business, which is a supplier to many businesses in the North Country.

She is a strong advocate of Second Amendment rights, an NRA member and has consistently spoken out in favor of repeal of the SAFE Act.

Rather than mailing out campaign material with negative personal attack ads against her opponent, Elise has focused on talking about meaningful solutions to the substantive issues we all are facing.

Elise’s move back to her family’s home in Willsboro, where she had spent many years during her childhood, has apparently been deemed of more importance by her opponent than creative discussion of the difficult problems we face as a country.

It might be noted that he also moved back into the district in 2009 to run for office after a number of years of living somewhere else. Should that in any way be a defining issue in this election? No.

I want a representative with positive and creative ideas on how to solve the difficult challenges we face as a nation and who will stand up for our rights under the Constitution.

Elise Stefanik is that person for the 21st Congressional District. Please join me in voting for her on June 24.
