Reading Night

TO THE EDITOR: Recently, the Morrisonville Elementary School community gathered for one of the school’s greatest traditions: Holiday Reading Night.

It was a night filled with school families coming together to celebrate a magical time of year.

Thanks to the following teachers and staff for going above and beyond to make this year’s event special: Jenny Damiani, for her endless planning, organizing of the K-1 singers and her role in “Who’s That Knocking on Christmas Eve;” Keith Parotte, for bringing holiday stories to the big screen; our amazing first-grade team of Amber Liberty, Jenny Damiani and Amanda LaTulip for their enchanted reading of “The Mouse before Christmas;” Principal Kathy Moore for her musical talents as well as her reading of “The Little Christmas Tree;” and teachers Tracie McCarthy, Keith Parrotte, Amanda LaTulip, Ryan LaTulip, Tara Chase, Amber Liberty, Marianne Kelly, Heather Tedford and Merri Jean Brennan for their lively roles in “Who’s That Knocking on Christmas Eve.” Your enthusiastic participation always steals the show.

Thank you also to these clubs and community members: Saranac Key Club costumed helpers; Kelly Frenyea, photographer extraordinaire; and Danny Hartman/Morrie, Toni Pellerin and the Sweet Adelines.

Of course, the show could not have gone on without fifth-grade helpers, student joketellers, Santa and several MFSO volunteers. A very special thank you to Jean and the cafeteria staff for their cookie-baking skills.

Thanks also to Dunkin’ Donuts, Banker’s Orchard, McDonald’s, Target, Sam’s Club, Walmart and Bailey Motor Company for their donations.

Morrisonville’s Family School Organization has strong traditions, and the school community is thankful that our children and families have events such as Holiday Reading Night to look forward to each year.
