a success

TO THE EDITOR: My sincere thanks to all that helped with the Jeff Wyand Miracle Ride on Aug. 17. Once again we had a very successful fundraiser.

Thanks to all. With your help we raised over $52,000 for the Children's Cancer Programs at Fletcher Allen. With more than 500 motorcycles that participated in the parade and then the barbecue at the Naked Turtle our fundraiser was once again a great success.

Thanks to all the fire departments for your exceptional coverage at all the major intersections, the New York State Police and Plattsburgh City Police; also, the sheriff's department, especially the Rouses Point Police Department, all the volunteers and the Plattsburgh H.0.G Chapter. Without all of you we could not have had as safe a ride that we had.

Once again thanks to Village of Rouses Point for allowing us to use their Civic Center as a starting point.

Stay tuned for a pre-ride in July 2009 in hopes of riding to Camp Ta Kum Ta in Vermont while the kids are at their camp. See me at Caron Cycles/Electric Motors Repair.

gratifying

TO THE EDITOR: On Sept. 6 we had a benefit for Billy Tedford at the Dry Dock Lounge to help Billy and his family during his extensive treatment for cancer. The turnout was overwhelming to say the least.

I could have never done this without the help of Tim Hartnett who solely took over the entertainment for the festivity, Russell Feher (Fine Line Audio) who worked 14 hours and put together such a great sound system for all the bands that made all their transitions run smoothly. To all the bands for donating your time you were all great. They were Johnny Tsumani, Bootleg, Zip City, The Riddlers, Natalie Ward Band, Blind Pig Blues Band and The Jay Walken Band. Thanks again, so much.

Let's not forget the great comedy act by Way Too Tall Whitey Ames. Some special thanks to people on my end of the spectrum were Kathy Scarborough, Maria Brown, Judie Fallon, Ed Combs Alan Bibeau, Donna Temar, Kacey, Rich Hoogkamp, Rick Frenyea and all my employees you did an outstanding job. Special thanks to McCadam's Distributing, Plattsburgh Distributing and Valley Vending.
