TO THE EDITOR: I surely have had the "luck of the Irish" since I moved to this quiet little town of wonderful, friendly and neighborly people. I've been on this earth since 1929, happily raised on a farm in Altona, happily married in 1952, and lived from 1961 to 2004 in the hamlet of Brainardsville, Franklin County, raising a family of seven children. Peace-filled life. Why now! At this age and alone -- Vandalism on April 26 -- Now! Sometime between Friday, July 4, and Saturday, July 5, my green wicker set of two chairs, love seat and a coffee table were stolen from my front yard!
My next door neighbors were gone to camp, I was gone to a wedding and to camp. Now my furniture is gone!
This furniture means a lot to me (a gift from my children). My husband, Jim, and I used to sit on this love seat on our front porch in good ole Brainardsville.
I do not want anyone arrested! I just want my furniture back!
Maybe you needed extra seating for the 4th of July! But, I need it now! Company coming! Please return it! Thank you!

TO THE EDITOR: On behalf of the Board of Trustees and myself, we would like to thank the Stewart's Foundation for their $5,000 donation to our library, as well as ice cream cones and gift certificates for our summer reading program.
We are also grateful to Senator Betty Little for obtaining grant money in the sum of $5,000 for automation and programming as well as providing funds to improve our service to the public. This funding consists of two grants of $2,500 each for 2007-2008 and 2008-2009.
We are indebted to both Stewart's and Senator Little.
