TO THE EDITOR: On behalf of the Board of Trustees, and the staff of the Clinton-Essex-Franklin Library System, we would like to thank Dr. Lise Heroux's SUNY Plattsburgh School of Business marketing class for their efforts in constructing some interesting multimedia marketing plans for the CEF Bookmobile.

We were glad to provide these students with an opportunity for a "professional marketing experience," and are reviewing their plans for potential use in our overall marketing efforts. We would also like to thank the bookmobile staff for their time and energies assisting these students with their project efforts.

The CEFLS marketing class experience is an example of successful non-profit SUNY partnerships, and we encourage other non-profits to mine the talents of those in our backyards, the skills of SUNY Plattsburgh students.

TO THE EDITOR: Volunteerism is alive and well. At least it was for the Special Olympics Summer Games for Clinton and Essex counties on May 10.

Members of the Ausable Valley Key Club worked as timers, lifeguards and overall supporters of the athletes. The Plattsburgh morning and noon Kiwanis prepared and served lunch. The North Stars football team helped with the track and field events and put the Adirondack Warriors Special Olympics basketball team through their paces in the afternoon scrimmage.

A big thank you to all of the volunteers from the athletes and coaches of Area 26. Also, thank you to Camp Dudley for the use of the track, AuSable Valley Central District for the use of the pool, track and basketball courts and Mehmet Adiguzelli of Plattsburgh Properties for the use of the tennis courts for the 2008 season.

Area coordinator
