Supporting candidate

TO THE EDITOR: We are writing to support Dave Hall for re-election to the Peru School Board.

Gas prices, interest rates, and the costs of services are all on the rise. Mr. Hall is fiscally conservative and will keep taxpayers, as well as a quality education upper most in mind.

In addition to 25 years of combined service to the Beekmantown, Peru, and BOCES school boards, Mr. Hall was board liaison to several building projects. He is trained in negotiation, served on negotiation committees, and is the former NYSUT president. Since retiring from 20 years of teaching at CEWW BOCES in Plattsburgh, he is devoted to giving back to the community.

We feel he is more than qualified to be re-elected. Please cast your vote for Dave Hall.

Donations appreciated

TO THE EDITOR: Thanks to a wide-ranging public outreach campaign conducted by the Elizabethtown Community Hospital (ECH) and its fundraising coordinators, everyone the hospital serves is having a chance to learn about the incredible expansion ECH is undertaking to better provide for its patients.

One such presentation was held recently in Willsboro with amazingly generous donations from the local business community. Hearty thanks are extended to Old Adirondack for serving as the host location; to the Village Meat Market for a tray of delicious filled cookies and a gigantic platter of pastries too; to Villa de Montanya for an irresistible tray of Mexican potato skins; to the Country Store for ice and beverages; to Rick's for a huge platter of mixed subs, chips and pickles; to the Sportsman's Dinette for deviled eggs and cherry-chocolate brownies; and to Turtle Island Cafe for their petits fours and overflowing antipasto platter. If you missed it, you should have been there! (Fortunately you'll have another chance on Tuesday, May 13 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Adirondack History Center Museum.)

We encourage you to patronize these businesses and thank them in person for their support of what is truly a community hospital.
