Shred Day

TO THE EDITOR: On Saturday, July 13, Dannemora Federal Credit Union hosted its seventh-annual Community Shred Day.

Members and non-members were welcome to bring up to 20 banker-sized boxes of confidential material to be shredded free of charge. Attendees were asked to bring non-perishable food items to the event, to be donated to the Plattsburgh Interfaith Food Shelf, in exchange for the free service.

Our members and community filled two trucks three-quarters full with shredded paper, which will be recycled. And they donated 16 boxes of food, five bags of cat/dog food and $124.31 in cash/check donations.

We would like to thank everyone who attended for their generous donations.

Dannemora Federal Credit Union offers membership to anyone who lives, works, worships or goes to school in Clinton County.

Hospital praised

TO THE EDITOR: An open letter to the Alice Hyde Hospital, Malone, regarding patient satisfaction survey:

A-NA to all (as reflected) five category rating questions, in that they are superseded by a more than well-earned “superior-plus” rating.

As a more-than-pleased Reddy Cancer Treatment patient, please allow me to present but a minute amount of the praise that I have for the Alice Hyde Hospital Cancer Treatment staff as a whole, with their proficient, tightly woven, work-related togetherness and mission goal to accomplish nothing less than the very, very best of treatment to each and every patient placed in their solid trust.

How can one find words of praise sufficient enough to satisfy the greatness of the Alice Hyde Cancer Treatment staff — from the top to the bottom, there are no greater.

The Cancer Treatment Center has a sign affixed to the entranceway to the waiting room wall that to the effect reads: You enter as a stranger and leave as a friend. It should include leave as “family.”
