---- — Vices

You can tell me to give up my guns, beer, fast-food and cigarettes till yer blue in the face. I’m keeping ‘em cause it’s my God-given right.

Bike

Thanks to whoever stole my child’s bike. I hope you enjoy it. She is heartbroken. You came in my yard and took it off my porch. Your mother must be so proud of you.

Threat

The biggest threat to our country is the gullibility of the people to the lies and deceit told by the powerful criminals that run everything.

Culture

Please visit other parts of the world and see for yourself that our culture here is backwards. From customer service, communications skills, appearance to education, we need to get our act together.

Slurs

The people who called rape victims “sluts” during a Take Back The Night rally are disgustingly vile human beings. It’s obvious their parents failed them on many levels.

Protest

Interesting to note that a professor made it mandatory for all her students to go to a protest. Is there an implied threat of grades being affected?

Bombing

The Boston bombing provided the opportunity for the government to turn what should have been a police investigation into a military-style occupation of an American city. This unprecedented move should frighten us as much or more than the attack itself.

Facts

People do not understand the negative effect they have businesses, other individuals, schools, communities, etc. when they voice their opinions without checking their facts. If you are going to open your mouth about an issue, know the whole story.

Appointments

People have no problem canceling appointments at their doctor’s office, but the minute something goes wrong, you better get them in yesterday.

Tests

What is the alternative to standardized tests? Customized tests adjusted to the students level of ignorance.

Ammunition

The Department of Homeland Security is buying 1,000 rounds of ammunition more per employee than the U.S. Army. The purchases raise serious questions about waste and accountability.

Fracking

To the folks who want to frack gas in New York state, why fight it, do what all other businesses have done: Leave and invest your time and money elsewhere.

Smoking

I recently visited the Senior Center and was sickened to see some employees grouped by the front door, puffing up a storm of cigarette smoke. Later, they reeked of stale smoke.

Deposit

When you rent, you seldom get your deposit back. They find excuses not to give it back. When you move in, take pictures so when you leave, you can prove problems were already there.

Caps

The 2 percent tax cap across New York was supposed to help the overburdened taxpayers. How does it help if they allow exclusions that let our school board pass a budget with a 7 percent rise in the tax levy and have it meet the tax cap?

Limits

When are the voters going to rise up in revolt? The best way to stop the high crime rate and corruption in Albany is to have term limits for every elected position in this state.
