Speakout: May 14, 2014

Brave

To the man who was molested by an older female sibling. I don’t know who you are but I have to say how proud I am of you for coming forward.

Student

A college student was hit crossing the road the other day. I drive that road; students walk out without looking. You may have the right-of-way, but cars can’t stop on a dime and they hurt and can kill. Just stop and look.

Jobs

When the new mayor was elected he stated that all part-time employment within the village would be eliminated. I guess this isn’t the case.

Language

Any true patriot will tell you that the no one should be required to speak English. Not only is that contradictory to the First Amendment but it goes against the very principals that this country was founded on: immigration and various cultures.

Tourism

If you don’t speak English, don’t come here as a tourist? Let’s follow this reasoning. If you don’t speak Italian, don’t be a tourist in Italy. If you don’t speak German, don’t go to Germany. What a wonderful, ignorant world this would be.

Words

Parents, grandparents, you say you love your children,  but you use angry words that hurt. If there is something I’m doing wrong or you want me to do, please say it nicely.

System

Is it just me or does our legal system seem to be routine: arrest, plea deal, get out, do it again.

Victim

This is in response to the young man who was molested as a child by an older female sibling. You are the victim. She is a monster.

Streets

I wish the leaders of the city lived on the south end. If they did, maybe the roads would be repaved. It’s ridiculous driving on South Catherine Street.

Parties

If anyone knows there are underage parties going on, Someone needs to let authorities know.
