---- — Wing Wars successful

TO THE EDITOR: On behalf of the North Country Life Flight team and our patients, I would like to extend a hearty thank you to the newest Plattsburgh radio station, B100.7 and Yuengling Brewery for presenting and sponsoring Wing Wars at Geoffrey’s Pub on Sunday, Sept. 30.

Wing Wars is a competition among area restaurants that allow patrons to enjoy unlimited wings and vote to name the region’s best wing recipe. Wing Wars benefits the North Country Life Flight air medical rescue team. Over $1,200 was raised in support of Life Flight’s air medical team.

Thanks to Geoffrey’s Pub for hosting Wing Wars and congratulations on the win for your tasty mesquite BBQ dry-rub wings!

Thanks also to Olive Ridley’s, Legends, The Ground and the Homestead for offering up great wings as well. The voting was very close and all the wings were enjoyed by the many attendees. Thanks to all who came out to support Wing Wars and Life Flight. Community support continues to make it possible for North Country Life Flight to help save lives without billing the patient.

WSLP-FM, sister station of B100.7, will host, Wing Wars in Lake Placid at Wise Guys Sports Bars on Sunday, Nov. 11 from noon until 4 p.m. Come join in the fun as eateries from the Lake Placid area bring their finest wings to compete, all to benefit North Country Life Flight.

Watch our Facebook page for information on participating restaurants.

Field Day appreciation

TO THE EDITOR: Almost 200 students and adults from Saranac, Chazy, Seton and home schools recently participated in Cornell Cooperative Extension’s 4-H Environmental Awareness Field Day.

We’d like to thank them for taking a day to learn more about environmental science, careers and the local organizations that work to protect, improve and help us enjoy the natural world.

We’d also like to give a big thank you to the many organizations that supported our event: the Plattsburgh Noon Kiwanis Club, Lake Champlain Basin Program, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Casella, Georgia-Pacific, Ben Wever Farm, Champlain Valley Search and Rescue K9 Unit, Parker Family Maple Farm and the Cooperative Extension Clinton County Master Gardeners, Energy and Eat Smart NY programs.

Thank you for helping make this event a success.

Teamwork the key

TO THE EDITOR: JCEO would like to thank the Della Auto Group and Toyota Motor Sales for improving the lives of seniors living in our community!

Your recent combined gift of $5,000 to JCEO’s Senior Care/Senior Repair Program will help fulfill our mission to assist seniors in maintaining their independence. An overwhelming majority of seniors wish to continue to live in their own homes for as long as possible. As individuals age their needs begin to change and the design of many homes presents challenges.

Through our work together, JCEO and the Della Auto Group can help seniors make minor alterations to their homes, which will help them fulfill their dream of remaining independent.

Thank you for your continued support. JCEO’s programs will continue to grow and flourish because of the wonderful work you do!
