---- — Degrees

Upon graduating and passing certification exams, new teachers head right back to college for a master’s degree. NYS requires it after five years on the job. No master’s, no job. Many employers in the area pay more for similar education and years of experience.

I heard this person say about a 15-year-old girl: “At least she’s working.” Geez, people, she’s just a kid; give her chance. Say nice things. Not everyone is the same in this world.

To the man who was molested by an older female sibling. Walk proud and keep your head up. I am also a survivor. I got through it. You can too. The guilt is building up inside of her.

I have a sign in my window that says, “Tell receptionist any changes in your address, phone number, medications, etc.” Why do people tell the doctor? Please tell the receptionist any changes.

I would like to say thank you to the Zumba instructors in Plattsburgh. It’s so fun and is so good for us to do.

Salaries our local school superintendents receive are commensurate with the hours they work and responsibilities of the job. However, “interim” superintendents can work without benefits because they retired with health insurance and are collecting retirement salaries in addition to their per diem pay.

Go ahead and run for school board. You will then see how little control we have over spending. Between the state mandates and the union health and retirement costs, we have control only over what we cut. The system is broken.
