Letters to the Editor: April 29, 2013

Instead of being satisfied, our administration then attacked France and Germany for their opposition to our war-mongering. Eventually, a large portion of Americans believed the carefully orchestrated schemes of Bush, Wolfowitz, Cheney and Perle. Even some top Democrats fell for the nonsense.

Today, we face nearly the same scenario. People I talk to are worried about Iran, Syria, North Korea, Yemen and others — all threatening our safety.

Some networks and many embedded journalists already refuse to call the bluff and again are allowing the infamous “one percenters” (who need wars for their continuous enrichment) to gradually wheedle the ever-oblivious population into supporting yet another war of aggression.

The members of the emerging local Green Party are firmly opposed to any war, especially when based on some flimsy “evidence.” We stand for peace, fairness, equality and all other progressive causes.

We hope that the readers of this paper will carefully study all evidence available to them, giving preference to peace and negotiation over a new war — a war that only enriches corporate giants, at the expense of all other Americans. Stop all our wars.
