Pipers grateful

TO THE EDITOR: Our band would like to extend a thank-you to the following organizations during this season of giving.

First, to the Salvation Army of Plattsburgh, who first opened their doors to us and never asked for anything in return. During their annual Christmas Kettle Drive, we play at the Champlain Centre mall on two occasions to return their kindness and to help in any capacity we can.

Second, we would like to thank Gander Mountain, who open their conference room to us giving the band a place to tune and get ready.

We would also like to thank Champlain Centre for allowing us to perform in the Food Court. Our next performance will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Dec. 8.

Please come out and support the Salvation Army’s Christmas Kettle Drive and hopefully enjoy some Highland piping and drumming.

Ring recovered

TO THE EDITOR: This is a thank-you to the person who found my wedding band in Price Chopper.

When I noticed my ring missing, my wife and I looked everywhere in our home and called the church where we attended that day.

My wife and I went to prayer, asking God to help us. Something told me to check Price Chopper, and sure enough, there it was.

This ring is very special, as it was given to me by my daughter and was used as my wedding band when I married my second wife.

My wife and I are very close to God, and he is always there for us. Thank you.

Contrived crisis

TO THE EDITOR: Attention Congressman Owens: “Fiscal cliff” is a contrived crisis to force a rollback of Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.
