Dinner support

TO THE EDITOR: Catholic Daughters Court Little Rose 1300 of Ellenburg recently held our annual harvest dinner, and we are very thankful for the donations that helped with the cost of supplies for our dinner.

They were very much appreciated. especially with the economy the way it is.

Thank you to all who helped with the dinner, some of you working from setting up to the end of the dinner.

Thank you to all non-members who helped; the St. Edmund’s youth group, which saved us many steps; our cooks for the delicious dinner; and last but not least, all who support our dinner year after year.

Thank you all from

Treasure Chests

TO THE EDITOR: I did not know, until recently experiencing breast cancer, that there was such a wonderful group out there known as the Treasure Chests.

Ellie Collins organizes the meetings, and a wonderfully diverse group of women attends it each month.

I had so many questions and concerns that only women who have been there can relate to. Whether you have just recently been diagnosed or have been dealing with this for a while, it is a wonderful place to go and get understanding and even blow off a little steam.

Big hugs to Ellie for her wonderful work and big hugs to all the women who attend.

TO THE EDITOR: Recently, I coordinated Hurricane Sandy relief efforts for the Highlands, N.J., community.

I would like to sincerely thank the following businesses and organizations for helping raise more than 7,000 pounds of ice and monetary donations to make this happen: Tonia and Mike Finnegan of the North Country Club, Cliff and Joanne Sterling of First Choice Power Wash, Michelle Kelly and the Pepper restaurant, Exit 36 U Haul, Alex’s Ice Service in Massena, the Keeseville Elks Lodge, the Currency Exchange, Northern Insuring, Plattsburgh Rotary AM and Plattsburgh Rotary Noon and especially to Marty Mannix.

Also to all of the other businesses and individuals that assisted us to make this effort happen in 72 hours, the residents of Highlands, N.J., sends their gratitude.
