Memorial tournament

TO THE EDITOR: The Ernest “Dutch” Craumer Scholarship Committee would like to thank all of the golfers, volunteers, businesses, sponsors and individuals who donated and supported the third-annual Ernest “Dutch” Craumer Memorial Golf Tournament at Bluff Point Golf Course on July 13.

Proceeds from the tournament will benefit athletic scholarships at Plattsburgh High School in Dutch’s name.

We would like thank the tournament sponsor, Mitch Tarr and Family; hole sponsors, Frank Zappala, Jimmy Merkel, Plattsburgh Boat Basin, Pasquales, Franklin Foods, Comfort Revolution, North Country Kids, Wick Cadieux, McSweeney’s, John Gallagher, Glenn Scroggins and Mickey Maynard, the volunteers who worked the tournament, Ashlea Baker, Sarah Bulkley, Cyndie Lathrem, Linda Joyal, Cindy Snow, Maxine Craumer, Joe Roberts, Doug Duquette and Peter Fleury; prizes and donations, Butcher Block, Cumberland 12 and Irises for third-place prize, Harley Davidson, Latitude 44 and Bluff Point for second-place prize.

The tournament was a big success, and our family would like to thank all of the golfers for taking the time to participate in such a memorable day.

Dutch would be proud and showed his appreciation by the beautiful weather that we had on the day of the tournament.

Raffle winner

TO THE EDITOR: Squadron 224 Sons of the American Legion is pleased to announce the winner of its summer raffle: Ramon Lesiw of University City, Md.

The prize is a Cub Cadet lawn mower valued at $1,500.

Brannock Properties, Ticonderoga Tree Service, The Sandman and Bridge Point Communications assisted Squadron 224 with the tractor’s purchase.
