St. John’s reunion
TO THE EDITOR: If you haven’t sent in your RSVP for the St. John’s Central School 40th reunion dinner on July 19th, you have just a little time left.
The final deadline is July 1.
We have the Butcher Block Adirondack Room reserved for us. Cocktails are at 5:30, and dinner starts at 6:30. Be sure to send your dinner selection and check as soon as possible to Sue (Singley) Bouyea at 24 Sandra Ave., Plattsburgh, NY 12901. We need to give the restaurant a final count.
If you need more information about the evening, you can email Sue Bouyea at firstname.lastname@example.org, Anne Gregoire at email@example.com or Sue (Racette) Hurd at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Some classmates are also going to meet at 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 18, at Meron’s on the corner of Bailey Avenue and Beekman Street for cocktails and catch-up conversations.
We are looking forward to a great turnout and lots of fun. See you in July.

TO THE EDITOR: There are many in this world who sit back and lament the many woes of society — the difficult times, economically and socially, that we presently reside in.
They theorize. They philosophize. Many folks prefer to stay distant and aloof from the process. “What difference does it make?” they exclaim.
Few are stepping up to the helm to steer us to a better course and offer solutions to create a better world and opportunity for ourselves but most importantly for our children and the generations to come.
After all the path is a very cumbersome and difficult one — marred with great challenges and personal negativity and vitriol. It absolutely takes courage, determination, resolve and an abounding love of country and community.
On Tuesday, June 24, Republicans in the 21st Congressional District have an excellent candidate who is able to navigate and offer the pragmatic strategies, remedies and solutions to the issues of our day.
