Backing Cashman

TO THE EDITOR: I would like to take this opportunity to endorse Michael Cashman for Plattsburgh Town Council.

I have known Michael for several years, in both a professional and social capacity.

Michael is a person who not only has great ideas but also the drive and passion to get them accomplished. Michael is open-minded and willing to thoughtfully consider any new ideas. He handles criticism with a maturity not often seen in politics these days.

Michael’s vision of community growth, low taxes and a commitment to small local business is one I wholeheartedly share. Michael truly loves this area and wishes to see it achieve its full potential so that all members of the community can prosper together.

Ferris understands

TO THE EDITOR: As a local property owner as well as business owner in the City of Plattsburgh, I would encourage my friends living in Ward 1 to support and vote for my friend Bill Ferris.

I have known Bill for more than 25 years and have always known Bill to be a hard-working family man whom you can find in church on Sundays. He is honest and professional in his business dealings and has a business savvy that will serve the City of Plattsburgh well.

Many politicians don’t understand the resource of money. Bill, being a business owner, understands that money doesn’t grow on trees. Money comes from somewhere, and it comes from the residents of the City of Plattsburgh, property owners and people who rent apartments.

Many of our local property owners are on fixed incomes and need to be protected against being taxed out of their homes. Bill understands the delicate balance between protecting our excellent city services and our property owners. Bill will work hard for our city.
