College athletes

TO THE EDITOR: Tuesday, March 25, we hosted the spring Meet the Cardinals event at Champlain Centre mall.

The attendees got to meet the athletes from the spring teams of SUNY Plattsburgh. Attendees also had the opportunity to get athletes’ autographs, receive game schedules and enter raffles for a chance to win team merchandise.

Each team generously donated the team merchandise and handed out team schedules.  One hundred percent of the proceeds from the raffle were donated to the United Way of the Adirondack Region Inc.

We had 25 athletes come to the event, representing the baseball team, softball team, lacrosse team and track and field teams.

We would like to recognize and thank the athletes and coaches who came to the event:

Baseball: Coach Kris Doorey, John Repetto, Ray Flynn, Rafael Ponce, Luke Weaver, Nicholas Lupo, Joe Leddy, Chris Peschetti, Mathew Chavez, Ben Weightmen, Mike Vargues, Frank Buksa, Will Flynn, Scott Orr.

Softball: Samantha Moss, Kristin Fisher and Morgan Anderson.

Lacrosse: Matt Renko, Peter Johann, Tim Lawrence, Courtney Cox, Brendan Damm, Anthony Pafundi and Charlie Dullea.

Track & Field: Coach Nick Jones, Coach Andrew Krug, Garth Benway and Brendan Connor.

We would also like to thank Sports Information Director Stephanie Dutton and Athletic Director Bruce Delventhal for their continued support.

Thanks again to SUNY Plattsburgh athletics and the athletes who attended the spring Meet the Cardinals event. We had a fun time and raised money for a worthy cause.

We will again be hosting a Meet the Cardinals event for the 2014 fall season.

Bailey Avenue grandstand

TO THE EDITOR: I have been unsuccessful in finding a photo of the old Bailey Avenue Park grandstand.

I would be most appreciative if someone would have one or knowledge of where I might find one.
