Pastor praised

TO THE EDITOR: The Brandon Center Wesleyan Church Local Advisory Committee, on behalf of the entire BCWC community, would like to thank our Pastor, Juanita Brooks, for her amazing leadership.

Twelve years ago, Pastor Juanita took on the role of lead pastor in a church with a weekly attendance that averaged less than 15 people and a building that few in the community even knew was a church.

Through her strong faith and tireless efforts, the church has re-established itself as a cornerstone in the community of Brandon.

From Juanita’s unique style of delivering messages that remind all of us that Christianity goes beyond the walls of the church, to her unfailing ability to know just when someone needs a reassuring visit or call, she ministers to this community with an energy level that is unmatched.

Her sense of humor mixed with passion for the task that she has, to impact everyone she meets with the message that they are loved and valued, is felt every day in our small community.

While not everyone in Brandon may attend our church, it would be difficult to find someone who does not know Pastor Juanita or been helped by her or a project she has spearheaded.

We would like everyone to know how much we appreciate our pastor. If you have a chance to make your way out to Brandon, we would recommend you stop in and listen to her message. We can assure you it is life changing.

Horse rescuers

TO THE EDITOR: I would like to express my sincerest appreciation for all who participated in the recent horse rescue.

I have always held that our animals, from our dogs and cats up to the large animals such as these horses, have hearts as big as all outdoors and will give 10 times the love and devotion that they receive.
