King of waste

TO THE EDITOR: Some accuse President Obama of acting like a king, and he is a king — the king of waste, fraud and abuse.

On a personal level, the Obamas take dozens of vacations jetting off to Hawaii or Martha’s Vineyard, often in two separate jets, with separate security and support systems.

Why do they do this? Because they can, and we are footing the bill. One Obama “vacation” costs the taxpayers more than supporting the British royal family for a year.

In the bigger picture, the production of our most advanced fighter plane, the F-22 Raptor, was canceled by King Obama so untold billions spent developing that system were for naught. The number of F-22s we have in inventory is insufficient, a fact well noted by Vladimir Putin and the rulers of China and Iran.

The “stimulus” program has pumped billions into “green” energy companies who have produced nothing but the bilking of the taxpayers.

Obama is behind the skyrocketing of “social programs,” actually socialist programs that take from the productive to give to the unproductive. Talking liberal loons say that fraud in these programs is minor, but if you are a real American, not a limousine liberal, you know some of these parasites, and they are legion.

Yes, there are people who need assistance, but even they game the system and draw more in benefits than the average worker who supports them makes.

Basketball Tournament

TO THE EDITOR: Over the course of two weekends, the Northeastern New York Basketball Officials Association, Board 43, held our ninth-annual IAABO Basketball Tournament to raise money for annual scholarships.

This year, we hosted 30 teams representing seventh- and eighth-graders on Feb. 15 and 16 and fourth-, fifth- and sixth-graders on Feb. 22 and 23 at Peru Junior/Senior High School.
