Appreciates support

TO THE EDITOR: I would like to reach out and place a huge thank you to a few wonderful people out there.

First, I would like to thank David Benjamin for the wonderful fundraiser he put on for my father, Rodney Collins. David put a lot of time and effort into this fundraiser, which will help with expenses for my father’s chemo treatments and traveling.

I would also like to put another huge thank you out there for all those others who helped the day of the benefit. Whether it was putting together all the orders, delivering the food, placing an order or just donating money. It is all much appreciated.

It was great to see everyone come together and reach out in any way they could to help out our family. Thanks again.

Driver on cell

TO THE EDITOR: What is wrong with people these days?

I was walking our family dog the other day on Cornelia Street. When we were about to cross the street near Grace Avenue, a lady in her car was on her cell phone and almost hit me and my dog.

How would the lady feel if she hit me or my dog?

I thought in New York state you are not allowed to use your cell phone unless it’s hands free? Where are the local police when something like this happens?

I think more people need to be more observant to what they are doing while driving a car instead of being on their cell phones. I feel cab drivers need to be monitored because they are breaking the law, as well.

County problems

TO THE EDITOR: The recent comments concerning the heating system in the County Jail cap off the litany of problems that have plagued the project management by the county supervisors.
